What is a celebrant?

What is a celebrant? It is someone who can help you celebrate any significant life event…..traditionally this tends to be Weddings, Baby Naming Ceremonies and Funerals...but it can be anything you wish to celebrate!

Why use a celebrant?

Quite Simply it gives you choice!

Traditionally weddings are held in Church with a minister, or at the Registrars, or in more recent times at some approved venues, the Registrar will come out to you, at one of these venues. Both of this options are wonderfully suitable for many people, and will continue to be a valid choice. But….if you want your ceremony to be a little bit more personal…. To choose a place special to you….The beach, a favourite woodland walk…your local pub....your garden!! then a celebrant may be the option for you. To share the joy of finding the person with whom you wish to spend your life with. You would need to attend the registrars office to fullfill the legal requirements of registering a marriage. This is a very short appointment, to repeat two specific sentences and sign, with witnesses the schedule. There does not need to be an exchange of vows or rings… this can be saved for the ceremony at the place of your choosing with all your family and friends there to support you.
